Environmental Education through Wood Lane Countryside Centre

Wood Lane Countryside Centre is the ideal base for formal and informal environmental education. The extensive wildlife gardens provide opportunities to pond dip, mini beast hunt, carry out environmental arts and history studies, study wildflowers and trees and much more.

What we can offer:

  • Woodland walks
  • Projects related to the national curriculum
  • Habitat studies: ponds, woodlands, meadows
  • Environmental games
  • Environmental arts
Pond Dipping

The centre can also be a spring board for walks and investigations into the wider countryside. It is within a few minutes walk of the Loxley and Rivelin valleys, both of which offer excellent opportunities for river, habitat, wildflower and geography studies.

Schools and groups can use Wood Lane’s spacious classrooms for a modest fee.
